Takeru began his first competitive soccer season last week. After two games, they are 2:0, and beat last years first place team in their bucket, so it is a very good start. Takeru is among the three substitutes for now and plays the midfield position. The first game he is a little tentative, trying to figure out where his position is rather than go after the ball all the time. I think it worked out well because he had good position and had a lot of touch. The second game was against a strong team who is also pretty rough. They were called quite a few times for pushing. Takeru is still not very used to this and tend to kick the ball out or pass rather quickly. He had a few good passes, and had two shoots on the goal. The second one (in the photo) was an excellent run and a very strong shot. Unfortunately it was blocked by the defender (#11 in the photo). As he gets more comfortable and confident, it will just be a matter of time before he scores.
