New season!

Actually the new season started in October, and last week we had our first meet of the season. As we had the last soccer game for Takeru, Ruri and I were not able to attend the Saturday races for novice, so only Ruri will race in the standard class. I made the mistake of not checking with the coach on Saturday for Sunday's schedule (schedules are available on the day of race:-) and I thought Ruri's class will be racing towards the end (assuming races starts from Grand Veterans). So we "only" got up at 4am and arriving at Rehnert Park (40 miles north of San Francisco) 6:15. Since the races start at 6am, I thought we had plenty time but I was surprised to find out that they switched the format from last year, and when I got there, Ruri has already missed the warm up for her class. She had to get ready for 700 meters without warming up. She had a great start, but later got overtaken. Same thing happend on 300 meters. Nevertheless she placed second overall.
